Why You'll Love Working With Us

At Group Solum, we're looking for an Accounts Payable & Payroll Administrator who can take ownership of important financial processes while helping us improve how we work. This is an opportunity to do more than process payroll and invoices. We want someone who questions inefficient processes, embraces technology, and looks for opportunities to simplify, streamline, and automate repetitive tasks.

✅ A Team That Values Ideas: Work with a collaborative team that welcomes initiative and fresh thinking.
✅ Casual Dress Code: Enjoy a relaxed, comfortable work environment.
✅ Variety & Challenge: Support multiple businesses, solve problems, and keep your work interesting.
✅ Improve, Innovate & Automate: Identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and explore automation. If you see a better way, we want to hear it!

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of payroll and accounts payable while helping our finance operations become more accurate, efficient, and scalable.

Payroll Administration

Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.

Maintain employee payroll records, benefits information, and supporting documentation.

Prepare payroll reports and support required tax and statutory filings.

Assist with CRA remittances, T4s, Records of Employment (ROEs), WSIB, and Employer Health Tax (EHT).

Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.

Ensure payroll deadlines are met, including processing on or around public holidays when required.

Accounts Payable & Financial Administration

Manage vendor invoices, approvals, payments, and account reconciliations.

Maintain accurate vendor records and financial documentation.

Investigate discrepancies, identify unusual transactions, and resolve issues.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to address outstanding payments and invoice questions.

Support accounts receivable and general bookkeeping as needed.

Process Improvement & Automation

Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve existing workflows.

Explore ways to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual data entry.

Use technology, Excel, and appropriate AI or automation tools to improve productivity.

Identify the root cause of recurring errors and implement practical solutions.

Develop more efficient, consistent processes as the business grows.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes initiative, thinks critically, and enjoys making things work better.

You'll likely thrive in this role if you are:

Analytical: You investigate discrepancies and look beyond the surface to understand the root cause.

Proactive: You identify problems and take action rather than waiting to be told what to do.

Results-driven: You take ownership and follow through until the job is done.

Detail-oriented: You understand that accuracy and compliance are essential when handling payroll and financial information.

Improvement-minded: You naturally question inefficient processes and look for better ways to work.

Tech-savvy: You're interested in automation, AI tools, and using technology to eliminate repetitive work.

Independent: You're comfortable making decisions within your responsibilities and working with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Collaborative: You communicate clearly and work effectively with finance, HR, and department leaders.

We're looking for someone who can balance getting the job done accurately today with finding ways to do it better tomorrow.
