Group Solum · Churchill Line, Watford · Full time
$100,000 to $150,000 a year
This isn't a role for someone who wants to simply keep things running.
We're looking for a hands-on agricultural leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the team to get the job done, understands cattle, knows how farms operate, and takes ownership from start to finish.
You'll oversee and support operations across four beef cattle farms, help manage the construction of two new cattle barns, lead employees and contractors by example, and make sure projects, maintenance, and day-to-day operations stay on track.
What You'll Get
✅ $100,000–$150,000 annual salary
✅ 100% employer paid benefits for you and your dependents
✅ RRSP match
✅ Leadership role with significant ownership, autonomy, and opportunity for growth
✅ Opportunity to help shape two new cattle facilities
✅ Hands-on agricultural environment with variety and responsibility
What You'll Be Doing
1. Lead and actively participate in the day-to-day operations across four beef cattle farming operations
2. Help manage construction, contractors, timelines, and completion of new cattle barns
3. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, facility improvements, and ongoing projects
4. Lead and hold employees and contractors accountable
5. Support cattle care, feeding, water, bedding, manure management, and facility conditions
6. Identify inefficiencies, waste, and potential issues before they become bigger problems
7. Maintain organized quotes, schedules, project notes, maintenance records, and follow-ups
8. Work with suppliers, veterinarians, nutritionists, contractors, and internal management
9. Coordinate with cropping operations where cattle and cropping activities overlap
10. Make practical decisions independently and know when to escalate issues
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings:
1. Extensive hands-on experience working with cattle and livestock
2. In depth understanding of farm and agricultural operations
3. Proven experience leading people, contractors, and farm operations
4. Strong organization, time management, and follow-through
5. The ability to manage multiple priorities without letting things fall through the cracks
6. Practical problem-solving and independent decision-making
7. Strong communication and accountability
Strong assets include: farm or cattle operation management, construction experience, livestock facility construction, contractor/project coordination, managing multiple farms, and experience with budgeting, quoting, or scheduling.
No specific degree or formal certification is required. We value practical agricultural experience and a strong ability to get the job done. If you grew up farming or have spent your career working in agriculture, we are the right place for you.
